Full frame takes advantage of any lens. In fact the improvements seen with 'lesser' lenses is greater than that with 'better' lenses.

Notice how there has been no leaks about the K-3 yet. I really don't consider Rice a good leak source. My guess all we will see camera-wise at Photokina is the new K-5 and the new Q. Just maybe the K-300 or K-z depending upon the name the budget dslr is going to be. Getting these three cameras to market is going to be enough to keep Pentax busy until early next year when we will finally see the K-3 and it will be a pro-level aps-c camera.

Did we see any K-30 leaks prior to the announcement? Pentax does a pretty good job of keeping things quiet. Since almost all the technology going into the K-300/K-z or K-5II will be recycled/refined from the K-5/K-30/K-01 I don't see Pentax having much trouble bringing those new bodies to market.

Not sure what to expect from the K-3. If they can get better DR and noise out of the 24MP sensor and take the AA filter off, then great, but I want to see a much improved AF system more than any thing. Faster, more accurate, and much better tracking.

Yup there was... that leak from the french ad I think. but then again, that leak was too close to announcement date too, that perhaps it was just the result of some "click-post-button-excitement" mistake from the part of that seller...

What I'm worried about is... what if, just if, THERE IS NO K-3 coming this year? ...

Yup there was... that leak from the french ad I think. but then again, that leak was too close to announcement date too, that perhaps it was just the result of some "click-post-button-excitement" mistake from the part of that seller...

I would wager there is no K-3 this year, but we will get the K-5 II/s and they will announce plans for a 24.3 FF K-3 in 2013. Maybe pipedreams, but that is what would make the most sense to me

The K-5IIs does not make as much sense as a K-3 w/24MP sensor and no AA filter.

A K-5II seems like more a life-support move by Pentax. The K-5 is a great camera even today, but with the life cycle of a body being 2 years on the market you have to ask how will the K-5II compete over the next 2 years? I think the K-5II is an attempt to put a "new" product on the market and buy some time until they can develop the technology to take another step forward. It reminds me of Olympus recycling the PEN series and the 12MP sensor for 3 years with minor upgrades and slight style changes.

I am only interested in a 35mm/FF sensor to use with my myriad of FF lenses so a $30,000 MF EVIL is not interesting to me as a future purchase. If the NEX FF is true then I will give B&H my Amex # for that.
