Just be warned, the Swivi isn't particularly well designed for people who use battery grips on their cameras, and the LCD panel on it isn't IPS.

A couple of questions ...

Does it work in Photo mode mode on the D800 or is it a Video only tool?
Does it show the entire image in Photo Mode or is it cropped?

The two demo's I've seen online were with Canon cameras and they only mention "when filming".
The two online demo's I watched both used a Canon with a grip.
I can also see how the buttons left of screen on the rear of the D800 would be covered unless the screen is swiveled away but that may not be a major issue.

Don't want to be a party pooper or anything, but this discussion re: D800 tethering and the like should be taken to the Non-Pentax Gear discussion subforum.

Let's focus here on the K-3, which probably won't be out until late this year despite the current scandals...

Quickshift would be nice but how about WR?
They managed to add WR to the DFA100/2.8 without any increase in size, it shouldn't be too hard to add seals to the FA Limiteds.
I'd like to see them expand the family though, I really like the look of this:

Two of the current FA Limiteds (31, 77) work well on APS-C too (equiv. 47, 117), the 43 (equiv. 65) is a bit of an oddball.
New additions should serve a purpose on both formats, 50-55mm (equiv. 76-84) or 18-24mm (equiv. 27-36) would work well, I think.

An AF version of the K/A 50/1.2 shouldn't be bigger than the FA31, I wonder how fast a 20ish wide lens could be while keeping close to the size of the other Limiteds.
Ok! Ok! Agree Agree Agree! I would love them to be like the DFA100 Macro 2.8 WR and YES a 24 mm would be perfect, come on Pentax!
Doesnt even need to be that fast, 2.4 would be fine.

I still think the K-3 will be an APS-C and that we will see a K-1 full frame. The Pentax line-up is basically the K-30 and the K-5II right now. There is a lot of room to expand the line-up.

K-r replacement
K-30 line
K-5 becomes the K-3
K-1 Full frame

Pentax is running out of numbers though. We might see a K-3 and K-1 FF if Pentax has plans for 2 bodies or we might see a K-1 and a K-1s. The K-3 might just be the K-5III.

It will be an interesting Fall for Pentax. They need these cameras to be available for pre-order or shipping by the holidays.

I would drop the K-series name for full frame because the modern K series is so tied to APS-C.

Instead, I would introduce a brand new series name for digital 35mm, e.g. KF or L, but keep the DA/DFA distinction for APS-C/35mm lenses.

Is there actually any credible source for the name K-3?
K-300 / K-30 / K-3 makes sense as a APS-C naming scheme until they end up at K-500 / K-50 / K-5(again) but a FF-model wouldn't fit.
While a name like LX might be recognized by some(us), I think it would be a mistake not to keep the far more recognizable "K".

I think they should just call the FF-Model the "Pentax K" and add mk. II, II, etc. to future models.

I like KF.. I think it should have a K in the name, because of K-mount.

I thought we decided during the last FF rumor excitement that the FF series would be called the "LXd"?

Please try to be consistent and organized with these rumors, we should not just randomly make up things as important as camera names./sarc

How about "K-I"(maginary) for realistic rumors and "K-D"(elusional) for unrealistic ones?
