They need low-endish stuff first. An inexpensive good looking and very small and light camera (picking up where the K-r lost the good vibes from the K-x), preferably with a new silent-motor compact kit lens. But
two low-endish cameras? Maybe it's already time for updating the K-30? I'd vote for something even closer to the K-5, but with smaller and more lightweight body.
But if they make it a "K-31" by keeping the K-30s overall design and just adding a mic jack and better video handling (especially focus peaking during video), they will have countered the most important negative remarks in reviews.
