If Pentax makes DA*30/1.4 - how to be with outstanding FA31/1.8?
Which lens must be cheaper?

I think DA*28/2 or 25/2.8 are better move...
The FA 1,8/31mm is out of production maybe, like all the other FA Limited.
Maybe it is the new time for the DA30?
But,maybe not.
We have to wait till end of Summer.

Is this true, I read it before, but it wasn't a real good confirmed message. I think they have now production in batches, so maybe they just plan on batches and some think it is out of production?

I have read the same thing here on the forum about ten times. Every time supply gets low people start the rumour that the lenses are no longer being produced.

FA LIMITED - easy to buy at any shops...
New black FA LIMITED are assembled in VIETNAM. My friend bought new FA77 (Ass. in Vietnam) at BHPhoto several days ago. Even A50/1.2 is assembled in VIETNAM. It could be ordered in Japan.

But there are SILVER FA LIMITED made in Japan in Russia. By the way.

What one? A400/5,6, FA*400/5,6, K500/4,5, A*600/5,6, FA*600/4, FA*250-600/5,6, A*1200/8?
I think the logical next jump is the 600mm (perhaps 250-600). I'd like to see it built to the same spec as the DA F 100 WR instead of the DA* line. It would make more sense to use the optics from the FA 600, keeping it FF, but cost would be both in price and weight.

New lens could be the 12-35 if for APS-C
I think they also have promised a wide angle for the 645 that it would be time to announce.

I have just given up waiting for a tele lens or TC, ordered a Sigma 150-500 (my first non Pentax lens). It is not the final solution, but will keep me going for the summer. For me the lens should be 500 or preferrably 600, but has to be affordable, not cheap, but affordable. The 250-600 would be perfect, but that one I think they can never make at a reasonable price. I guess if they could make new ones at the used price level fo 7k$ it might work. A 500 or 600 at 4000$ would be better, and also more mobile.

My 31, 43 and 77 are all brand new lenses from new batch (AIV). The 31 was preordered and i recieved it from the latest batch, this means the lens was produced just a month or two back.

If production of FA Ltd was ended, it was ended very very recently, like this month!

Let's hope they don't settle on K-k... In french, that would sound like "caca", the equivalent to your English's "poo" (no kidding)...

They already made fools of themselves in France with the K-2000 (that was the French title of Knight Rider), and with the K-7 (sounds like "cassette", and man, did I get snickering jibes from my Canikon friends on that one, asking me if it took VHS or Betamax).

Before that, and we had the awful "*ist" line, which is frankly an Internet nightmare (and an unpronounceable word)...
