I tweeted Pentax Australia asking if they'd have a bunch of new stuff for us to lust after and play with.

Here's the response:

Whilst they aren't saying "new" ... one can't help hoping.

A mirrorless cam a la the samsung/panasonic type, retaining a viewfinder, which would take the existing lenses... now thats something I'd like.

Unfortunatly the chances of our PMA would be hard pressed to get any really large announcements. eg new systems would be most likely released in the US or JP atleast that would be my thoughts. I'm leaning down the line of a some WR wide angle (<18mm) to fisheye. but they haven't even been rumoured so my hopes get shelved for a while longer.

APS-C sensor? 17.5 mm - is it real focal length? Or it's 11 mm lens? Or 3 mm....

PhotoRumors says its the NC-1 released 23rd June, and the Pentax Q in August ?

Along with "at least two new lenses"

But then they go on to say its possible that the NC-1 and the Q are just code names for the same camera... so who knows...

I think its APS-C. I didn't read the details since its a few days more but it was a email update for the announcement. 2 cameras will be announced and lens color is like FA limited silver. All 5 of them.

Well, this year I will be at the Pentax stand. Last time I went was just after the K-7 was released, and the stand was so crowded I never got a chance to actually get hands on with it. I expect if there are some good lenses and cameras, the same will happen. I think I'll send the Nikon user friend to go play with Nikon while I play with Pentax. That way there wont be pressure to finish up fast in order to go to the other stand. Also this year I refuse to be shoved aside as unimportant just because I am female, and old. Last time there were some incredibly rude young men who obviously thought good gear was wasted on someone like myself. grrrr

I did not read the details since the pdf was like 5 pages i only ask confirmation and it was confirmed 23rd June 2 Cameras and showed me what will be announced. Also, the availability of the camera is slate by September 1, 2011. but told me it will be delayed after what happened in japan. mostlikely availability is Christmas Holidays.

Does any of this pertain to me a DSLR user? Like, are there going to be any new lens announcements for APS-C (or full frame)? Or is all the hype about a mirrorless system?
