Hope it's compatible with Auto 110 lenses... Know a shop which has one on display only, will try and persuade them to sell to me...

I'd like to see someone try to get through airport security with those. Looks like something the Ming the Merciless would use on Flash Gordon.

Why in the world would they want to do that? I have an Auto 110 and a couple of lenses. Its a
neat little camera, but, its my understanding that there were only about 2,000,000 of
them made. Pentax only made a handful of lenses for it, and virtually no third party lenses
were made.

Throw in the fact that the camera and lenses have been out of production for over 25 years, which
means that only a fraction of the lenses probably still exist. There are no recent or current cameras
using that mount.

The Auto 110 lenses were fixed aperture. Aperture control was in the body, a technique that was
never repeated in any Pentax camera.

So, there's no great body of users for Pentax to tap into and the supply of old lenses is pretty
small. Plus, there are technical limitations that are problematic in today's digital world.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Auto 110. I just don't think that there is a business case to be made for making
it compatible with A110 lenses.

No idea. I said that's what I wanted, not what they might want.

I doubt the quality of the lens would actually be an issue with a 2011 produced sensor. Besides, those things have SMC coatings and the glass was probably better quality than the bulk of the glass (if it even is glass) in most p&S lenses. The 70mm lens rivals the ltd series in build etc. As to the number, Pentax only made about 4 primes and a zoom and you are correct in it is unknown how many survive. There was a 3rd part TC. But then I didn't need that many lenses for 110 format, especially in J.H. and the 9th grade. The limitation for that system was the 110 film available in the late 70s and early 80s. 10 to 15 years after production stopped, 110 film quality was actually pretty good.

What new mirrorless Pentax? If you are talking about the Q, they are running 3 weeks behind.
