Ben
Well Ben,

I really do hope you are right you know and yes your word for it would be good enough to trust that it will be an Ok camera and no doubt I will run ibe giving it a run for the money, before passing final judgement on anything
I just wonder when/if we will see that top of the line Pentax body.

I mean a step above the K10D/K20D...

It is the when/if that actually means something for me.

The K20D images are so perfect, that Adobe had to redesign Photoshop for them:
All it consists of is a close button.

I hope you are right. There is nothing ground breaking in the leaked K20D and K200D info so far, assuming that they are reasonably accurate. So I hope that there is something more "ground breaking" than what we learn so far.

By the way, are you one of the beta tester, Ben?

As long as it's focusing system is as good as the Canon's (ie. for quickly moving objects), that's the game breaker for me.

I think you are in trouble on that one. That would take a big leap for Pentax and don't think it's their point of focus. Pun not intended.

Um? Maybe someone can tell me what Pentax's point of focus is. I'm sure AF tracking will be better. You could argue and say that AF tracking wasn't down Sony's avenue either but the A700 was a vast improvement over the 7D. Even my K10D is a big improvement over my 7D. 7D was a great camera but had woeful AF tracking.

That can mean only one thing. This Advanced DSLR will come with a button that makes a great picture. (have to admit I didn't make that one up but read it in someone's sig )

Ben, I don't believe you. Tell me what you mean................ <wink>

From looking at the new patents for this month they have just received approval for an SR unit that works in the X, Y and Z planes!?!?!?! What was that? Yes guys the Z plane, so rocking back and fourth will be the thing of the past

Don't know if it will be in, but would be cool!
So um...does that mean all Pentax Lenses will not only have an all encompasing SR solution (front,back,left,right,rotational)..

...but Tilt-Shift as well???

FotoPete, you take the prize for out-of-box thinking. In-Body T&S - that made me both roar with laughter and (30sec later) stare in the distance. It's not that crazy, is it?

Ben

Except, how will you use the live view to shoot overhead, over crowds, etc.? ground level macro, etc. without putting your head on the floor?

This is a main desire of the feature, right?

3" lcd like all the competition, right?

Pentax sees the quality and low noise of D300 shots at ISO 6400. Samples are posted all over the web. They can compare with K20D ISO 6400 shots to make absolutely sure they are just as good if not better.

They wouldn't release the K20D without being completely sure of this, right?

They know how important, and commented upon this is. They see how quickly the D300, D200, 40D, 30D focus, and their low light advantages, as well as how well their focus tracking works.

Component cost would be similar, so cost is not the issue. It is simply a matter of designing it correctly, and not accepting the results until they are as good or better. Doesn't matter what their "focus" is. They have to make AF anyway, so why not just make it on the same level as the ones people do feel are better.

They wouldn't release the K20D until they physically were sure the new design is comparable. Most of those cameras are available where Pentax can buy them for testing purposes to make sure the K20D focuses at those levels. What's the point of accepting less, so they won't. Right?

close!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My two cents worth.

I reckon you are underestimating the Sensor MP.

I reckon it will be closer to 19mp or 20mp.

Crash.
