Maybe it will be a K9 because it will eat all the competition alive. Personally I'm really fond of the K series because of my Fond memories of the K2 that I bought in 1975 and used for 20 years.
If the reintroduction of a K series is patterned after what they did then before they lost their way in the late 1980's, with ugly plastic bodies, they will cough with an "L10" or maybe an M10.
The K, L, and M are all model series of film cameras that Pentax introduced when they were riding high of the wave of success driven by their all time legend, the Spotmatic but seriously, if you look at the history of Pentax over 50years they have always COMPLETELY changed the name if they had a new body. Upgrades and spin offs will get some family difference moniker without a lot of rhyme or reason, and if it is a new design it gets a new name with only a random connection to the past.
IF half the hype is true about how different the 'next' will be--- Lets see--- new Sensor, new flash system, new ISO numbers, new live video on the screen, maybe digital zoom, major changes to the auto-focus.... Another axis to the SR, etc.---history tells us that the name will be from a random bag somewhere.
