It will be interesting to see just where Ricoh positions Pentax, how they market the brand. Maybe as THE INNOVATOR, taking photography into new directions, just as Asahi did with the original Pentax and Spotty. That could be exciting, eh?

A couple years ago, were other options. Before buying my K20D, I nearly bought a Sigma or Fujica forensic SLR because I like spectrum-slicing, working in odd regions of EMF radiation. Those would have tied me down to expensive Nikon lenses, alas, so now I'm Pentaxian. Folks with more money have more MFD choices than we have with our small-format dSLRs. But CaNikon have the marketing budgets, the name recognition, the visible presence, drowning out the other options.
