Heck with the Sigma, I want the 3-wolf-moon shirt!

Seriously though, lack of longer lenses and service of them drove me to Canon. When you are talking about a lens like that it matters little what brand body you have to stick on it. A couple years ago I got a 40d refurb and a 400mm f5.6 for the price of a used (with no service support) FA400 f5.6.

It's 13 lbs. (207 ounces, to be precise), actually.

Thats exactly what the A*400/2.8 weighs (as Clinton well knows too) so I am less impressed by the weight than I thought I would be. Would like to try one someday.

Sigma is (unfortunately) replacing their lenses with new "Optical Stabilization" lenses, at prices that are typically at least double the price of their non-OS predecessors.
Yeah, and that's so wrong! I'd be surprised if they offer a K-mount 3-800mm and I'd pass on such a thing in any case.

I don't remember the part where the Dark Side gives me the coin to purchase artillery like that. As far as brand loyalty, its additive, not one or the other. I could weld a 60D to the lens and keep everything else.....if Darth pays me enough.

Why do you keep disinterring very very old news threads???
I will ignore this one after this post unless you have something that really is new news relating to Pentax.

Considering that Sigma never made the 300-800 in Pentax mount, and they will most likely not make a Pentax mount lens again, why did you bring up this thread?

Come back into the light Anikin. The power of the Dark Side has deceived you. Bring back the balance into the Pentax Force.
