My money is on a replacement for the X-90 - it was announced in Feb 2010.
I'm hoping mirrorless APS-C, but not holding my breath.

Actually I do want one - I am going to wait until some real (full) reviews come out first.
Why wait? If the reviews are favorable, you'll buy one. If the reviews say it's a dog of a camera, the reviews are obviously flawed and you'll buy one anyhow.

I am waiting for the hard numbers to come out (IQ comparisons, ISO performance comparisons, etc..) which will hopefully be soon. If they are favorable (which I hope they will be), then I will pick up one...

Yes it's gone now, that's the worst kind of teasing.

I guess we have to wait until Oct 6 to see if it is a new DSLR or just a lot of merde de taureaux

I think that if there is nothing new, then it was important to change the pdf, if there is a new DSLR, then, it is important to not remove the older one...

It's a bit too soon for a K-5 replacement isnt it? That should come out about March/May of 2012.

It can very well be a K-mount EVIL camera, using the same sensor as K-5. Moderately priced, stripped down just a tad. Just hoping!

Don't get too excited there is no K-5 replacement till mid next year.

There is something NEW on the horizon though.

Prediction:

Both the K-5 and K-r get updates. Call them Super.

Better video. Better LCDs. Potentially t-s, not sure.

Possibly new sensors, 24 and 16 respectively.

The issue is less what the pulse of past announcements and more what is the competition doing? The Sony A77 is a shot. And Pentax can take aim at the D7000 with a better sensor in an upgraded K-5. Pentax has better market timing with Sony sensors and models than Nikon.

New glass? Maybe a 55-300 WR. SDM II. Something like that.

That's not true if we look at the past. Pentax always came later (sometimes much later like the *ist). It's only since the K-5 that they were on par with Nikon. In 2007 when announced their bombs (D3 and D300) Pentax did not react until Feb 2008 with the K20D. So why could they react so fast to the A77? Canon and Nikon didn't react yet. My guess is a K-5 update for early next year.

The one that HAS to be upgraded is the K-r. It's not competitive anymore based on features alone. They can continue the alphabet but... I think they should try something even smaller and cheaper. Maybe a kind of SLT? But I'm dreaming, it will be most probably a K-r updated with the 16MP sensor.

Maybe a new lens or two, that's what will probably be the most exciting Pentax release before the year's end.

I don't expect a K-5 replacement yet. I think they had to release the silver edition a bit prematurely to gain some positive publicity with all the stains and AF bashing that K-5 received initially. I would have expected a special edition to "normally" come out around this time and the next generation at least half a year later. So a K-r replacement sounds more plausible. Also, I don't expect anything groundbreaking at this time, probably just something that was already coming in the pipeline under the (current) Hoya management. I expect to see within the next 12 months some signs of where Ricoh is planning to take the brand.
