Hi,
On the french Pentax website, you can download a invitation to the "salon de la photo" in Paris. (6 october 2011)
Here is a screenshot of the invitation :

Le Pentax ???
The translation of the text below the camera is : "Of course, we have other new products to introduce to you, but we can't tell you more for the moment"

I pray to god it (the K-r replacement) will have a swivel screen (and maybe the sensor of the K5)

I agree. I don't see that as a Pentax feature. People who really want that feature should go with Canon or Sony. I'd prefer to have a smaller camera than one with extra bulk from an articulating LCD.

Look at the date of the event - 6 october 2011

Coincides with the full Ricoh<->Pentax operations merger of October 1st, could turn out to be something extremely good...

It is. But the sudden price cuts on the K-5 make me wonder.

I call it K-s and 16 megapixel. It's the time for K-r replacement. Nice and expected.

Ah, it shouldn't be a K-5 replacement yet... But then again, we just never know when Pentax is going to spring a surprise on us!

Yeah, probably an update to the K-r. But maybe they will be introducing new technology (i.e., it won't be an SLR).

A DSLR typically takes about 1.5 years to develop. Ricoh has nothing to do with it. Try in two years time....
