Fashion photographer tests the Q at Fashion Week

This is part one of a blog about a professional's experience with the Q. The results are positive, so far.

Images look good, and the photogs comments are interesting, esp re low-light, handling, AF.

The photog deciding to ditch their 24-70/2.8 L to carry around the Q instead will get peoples attention.

Hmm...starting to look like we should be having a dedicated Pentax Q Forum on this site.

Wow, those images look super. Bet Canikon is wondering why they didn't build a camera like this. Wouldn't want to be in their next meeting.
thanks

The images don't look AMAZING AMAZING, but they don't look terrible. I like the glowing review though.

Very interesting blog, I'll be sure to stay tone for the rest of the review.

Most importantly, the reviewer is a professional, which gives the her impressions some weight.

That does look good. It is a nice small camera to just bring along and no-one wil notice it.

The Q should actually do fine in a fashion context.

The diary is a bit more challenging because of walking models and no flashes.

But with studio light and apertures which typically are f/5.6 or f/8 anyway, the Q should produce similiar quality (at f/2) to a 10MP dSLR (which suffices for a full portrait page magazine layout, read, a title image).

It would be interesting to hear if remote studio triggers work as expected.

I hope to test it as soon as possible, but i am confident this will do : same flash connection for the Q as for all Pentax SLRs.

Yeah, I will be shocked if triggers don't work as expected.

Where's OGL to add his criticism?

<ogl>
I see nothing any new $300 p&s couldnt do, maybe better
fashion is what Q really all about though, so fits

also it's paid by pentax

Ashton Kutcher also excited about his nikon!

Interesting articles. I think the images are too small to judge. I do want to see some prints made from this camera, but I doubt that Pentax Imaging Engine can perform actual miracles.

You could print some of the full size JPG's from the photographyblog.com preview.
