K20D pic or fake? ;)

With all the buzz about the new groundbreaking Pentax offerings hopefully coming in January, it was inevitable the mock up shots would start popping up (and the ensuing debates about their authenticity). Just happened to notice this one.... and since you folks here seem to be the most knowledgeable Pentax users around the net, I thought I'd post the link and watch the fun.

Pentax K20D on show at PMA 2008 - Stock Photo market and Creative Digital Photography guide

PS. My enthusiasm for the K10D was hampered this summer due to a spinal injury, eventual surgery and health costs that have been testing my patience. Good news is that the surgery was an amazing success (even to the neurosurgeon), and I'll be back in the market just at the right time for the new goodies!

Best regards,
Mark

In my opinion it's fake

Looks almost like K10D. I think someone Photoshopped K10D and now is having fun watching Pentaxians go crazy about it.

What is the top green button on the left hand side???

I certainly looks like a PSed K10D.

Nice... only if you want never to use it!

I think Pentax understood that buttons placed on the left side should be devoted to menus, reviewing pics and things that you do when you're not shooting.

Buttons related to settings that you might want to change while you're taking pictures (with your eye to the VF) should be located on the right.

That includes the green button and ISO button of course.

I think (hope?) this is a photoshoped K10, mixed with a D80 for the (badly placed) ISO button.

huh.. I see no k20d image on that site, just a k10d stock photo, did they remove it?

Ahh.. I ad to enlarge that image up to see the differnces, there is no way the green button is getting moved over ther, and no way they would put an iso button there that would be ridiculous. its fake

Most probably, yes, those button positions are indeed stupid.

Richard Day says:
"It's not the K20D, it's been fudged in Photoshop, or it's different to the beta I tried! ;-)
There are small details which are not visible in this shot, plus there are some incorrect technical assunptions made."

Well you know the next Pentax will use "i" technology.

There will be three iDials with the addition of 16 yes 16 iButtons to control you iTechnology.

Thanks, Jeff! I can't explain how excited I am to be able to get out there again (and pain free YAY!). Just a matter of time to recoup the work and bank losses, and I'll be back to normal LBA and salivating for the new K20D body (well, the salivating has already started). hehe...
