I really like the new interface - but I really hope they will allow for us to upload new versions of existing photos! My photos look pretty crappy enlarged to 1200px height or even larger. Note that the rules now say that 900px is the minimal height - larger pictures will be scaled down, it says, but presumably not on large screens.

The interface is an improvement to the old one - on my computer everything is running smoothly and I don't have any problems finding my way around. But the IQ is rubbish with images being upscaled and therefore looking unsharp and noisy. If I was a prospective customer this would be an immediate turnoff! Look at some of the "premiere" pics and compare to a gallery like 500px or 1x.com The current pics are simply of too low resolution.

I admit Pentax have faced a problem with no easy solution: The interface needed to be updated and then what to do with the existing content? They actually had to have considered this years ago when they made the original site. Now, looking at Pentax's web efforts in general, I doubt that they have anybody emplyed knowing more about Internet than what could be learned on a one week course.

So now what? Unfortunately, I don't think they care to put in an effort to get this sorted but I would be embaressed if they don't.

I rather like the new site, but I agree that they need to add some sort of 'replace photo' mechanism so we can update our photos with larger versions. And then to maintain the look of the site perhaps they need to move artists who don't update their photos to a separate section which displays 900x600 photos.

Strangely if I start voting now I am seeing only 900x600 photos, which are presumably from the backlog of un-voted photos. However my own un-voted photos have vanished, I know there should be at least 20 in my queue.

Also their feedback form is slightly broken, at least in Safari on OS X 10.7. The box is about 10 rows high, but you can only type a single line before it starts cutting you off. I reported it.

Generally prefer the new look and layout, but the upscaling of old images to fit the 900px format is totally unnacceptable. They should be displayed at their intended resolution at 600px high.

Is anyone able to add more than one "Other" piece of gear in the gear part?

Nope. It's pretty obvious that they only want to promote Pentax gear.

Very slick new setup, and no Flash!

Looks good, images still look better on flickr/picasa etc.. The sight navigates well but it's slow responding. Google+ has the right setup for displaying images in my opinion.. it's fast well laid out and has good IQ even when it resizes the images.

Still some bugs in the voting to be ironed out:

The photographer's name appears on all the photos - it's supposed to be anonymous; and
One of my own photos came up for me to vote on (it got a thumb up )

Voting just stopped working for me, instead of the picture to vote on I see a blank thumbnail...

If you're trying to use the link you had before for your log in page, that won't work anymore. Try this one:

PENTAX : Welcome to the PENTAX Photo Gallery

Artists login is on the left at the very bottom of the page.
