The new interface is a lot faster
I started to vote on 900px pictures and I can feel an obvious slow down compared to the 600px pictures. The downscaling works well enough and at least I'm not distracted by over-sharpening.

The new PPG is excellent, far much better than the old one.

But i would like to have a "skip" button when i vote for photos. They are some pics which are perfectly done, technical speaking, but totaly out of my interest, and, it's hard for me to judge them.
And, for those who posting pics on PPG, maybe it's not a very good idea to post a set of 10 times the same subject but slighty different pic. The first time i see one, it's thumb up, but when i see for the fourth time a pic with alway the same subject but just with a little difference : "thumb down". It's maybe a better idea to choose only ONE pic, the best one of course to help the guys who vote for your pics ! . Again, a Skip button could help when it appends.

I'll probably be the only one to not agree but I saw nothing wrong with the old Flash gallery. The new one is a bit faster but that's it for me. I wished for more substantial improvements about quality, rules of submission, and stuff like that.

Votes should be weighted. People with a high ratio of acceptance should have more weight IMHO. That would improve the quality of popular vote I think.

I agree with you, we should skip some categories entirely. For example if I don't have any interest in macro, I should be able to just skip the whole category. As for people submitting multiples versions, that's a bad strategy: they will just dilute the votes.

It was time to move on for me. The twenty or so months participating were fun and instructive, but after some consideration
I decided, that the image quality of previously submitted work was important enough to me to warrant deletion of all accepted images.
Sad, and I hope that the future will hold less disappointment. The Pentax/Hoya chapter has ended, so maybe this was a clean break.

Could not complete registration since it asks me for my web address. Put in several. But none was accepted. I was told that there were special characters in the addresses that were not acceptable. Any similar experiences?

You register with your email address not a website.

After registering with email and getting confirmed, I was asked to provide more information such as my website.

OIC, but you don't necessarily have to put a website in, I didn't. As I don't have one.

When it asks for a URL it is not asking for a full web address. It is simply asking for what artist name you want. The URL ends up being...

Name: Screen Shot 2011-10-27 at 7.35.43 AM.jpg
Views: 383
Size: 7.9 KB

They should provide a better explanation.

One thing I have noticed in voting, is that the photos being submited have really dropped in standards

Maybe it's just that there aren't that many available for voting yet, so you'll end up seeing a lot of the bad images after clicking through the better ones? (That's what I thought, at least)

Hm.... I try putting html tag like <a href="url">Link text</a>, on the artist page, it only show "Link text" without those tags - I was happy as I thought it accept html tag, but turn out it won't link it.

I voted for over an hour on each of the last three nights and I'm still looking for the outstanding photos I'm currently voting up on 1 in 30-50. I was closer to 1 in 10 previously.

Maybe I don't vote fast enough to have gotten to the good ones yet.

Hmmmm! I just got the e-mail today about the Gallery update.

I wonder what happens to the one nude/topless I have approved in gallery since the new TOS says you can't submit them.
