PENTAX US website facelift

The United States PENTAX website has been completely redesigned. See http://www.pentaximaging.com.

It's quite refreshing to see the website facelifted...

The lens page needs work, too.

Clicking on "Buy Now" for any K-mount lens (at least the few I tested) always opens the smc PENTAX D FA MACRO 100mm F2.8 WR. The 645 and Q lenses work okay.

Discontinued lenses still show a Buy Now button. Clicking on those says the item is not available. They should just show discontinued instead of the buy button.

I can agree it's rather immature, but it is a step in the right direction.

It's a good start. At least there is some show of interest in moving forward.

Agreed.

The DA* lenses should be much, much more prominent than they are. Pentax should also open the lens section with a single page that lets you navigate to any of the lens families on offer without having to scroll down a ton of pages.

OTOH, I did like the prominence of the 645D on the index page. Pentax should take a lot of pride in it and let people know they have a big megapixel body on offer.

Seem to be only some Macro lense who have issues. The rest look ok

Great news that things are progressing. I think the sheer number of things that have to be reviewed, updated, cataloged, inventoried, etc is amazing. Imagine buying a company like Pentax, then walking in and trying to sort out everything. Policies, procedures, development projects in many different departments, building and equipment leases and so on.

Fortunately RIcoh has done this before so they should have some institutional experience in getting a new "division" up to speed.

The way they are going, the FF camera should be out by the end of the year! /ducking as another thread devolves into FF camera discussion/

Very tactful, DragonLord. I was looking at another word but "immature" is better.

When all other attempts at optimism fail, I simply remember that we cannot have version 1.0 until we have version 0.8.

OTOH, perhaps they put a development version into production by mistake?
