ROTFLMAO!!!! I nearly spit out my drink when I read your reply, Ben! This post made reading through all of RH's garbage worthwhile.

It should be about Pentax not some sad little person. I read his comments as a cry for attention - then ignore them, so let's get back to talking about Pentax.

I will not buy the next version of Pentax anything unless it has a beer bottle opener included and the AF point is directed by where I look in the viewfinder.

Enough of this PENTAX Talk...Let's talk about...

SEX Baby, Lets talk about you and me, lets talk about all the good things and the bad things that can be lets talk about SEX...

OK...Back to reality.

Ben

Claricent, Well if you find the K10D too thick and heavy, I'd suggest getting a *istD. That camera (I have one) is basically the K10d jr. Laid out the same way and almost all the same features with the notable exception of SR. Great second body. Smaller and lighter and if you are switching back and forth between bodies, it's a no brainer.
I had one, sold for a K10D, and IMO the boig roblem of the ist-D is the bad handgrip. The ist DS/DL variations are much better in this regard.

maybe to easy but

Sounds more like an Elvis, BootFoot, Jim Morrison, Ogopogo siting. Lots of snifs, teases, and loose descriptions. Why not just walk up to the guy and say "hey buddy nice camera what is it" I am sure he or his team would have loved to spout up about running with prototype gear. My guess is that he had a film camera. His team was shooting digital, and he was an old school purist (think about it, no LCD visible, worked as one with the camera like he was born with it - probably was)

Sorry to say Elvis died on a toilet, Jim is 6ft under, Ogopogo was and will continue to be floating debris in the lake....... and hell the old film cameras did have their magic.

At least we still have Santa

Not so sure about that... I've phoned him, and he told me "sorry, I don't have 70mm Limiteds in stock but I'll re-supply by the end of January". I feel betrayed...

Look at those three lenses on the underside of the UFO photo earlier in the thread. It is a DA* prime lens.

So I guess it does 3d HDR in one shot, with all those lenses!
Well, does it look like Pentax K3D? :ugh:

Oh I thought about checking exactly that but IMO it looks a lot more like Tokina's 35mm Macro.

Mmm since Tokina's version is supposed to be out now, I supose Pentax' version shouldn't wait too long. Announced with the DA* in January ? Probably.

It is not a Tokina lens. The lens hood says Pentax although someone have tried to hide it by blackening it out. It has a gold ring around focus ring and a green one near the lens mount. I doubt Tokina have exact Pentax finish and design.

I hope to god the reason for the lack of chimping wasn't due to the new Pentax DSLR having a video mode.
Would that really be such a bad thing? I'm undecided. There was an article in the current Digital Photo Pro magazine that talked about how some newspapers are starting to use hi-def camcorders and are pulling stills from the video, so it may be coming whether we like it or not.
