Do you have a link to the 150K-follower pentaxian?
I will look him up. I believe he is Russian. I can not pronounce/spell his name. Victor Something. He is in the Pentax user group, but he also uses a Canon 5DII. Lot of great B&W work. I think he is in my B&W circle.

https://plus.google.com/u/0/100616009114067625121/posts Amy has only 4,000. Pentax K-5 user.

I have several hundred people in my circle and I need to do a better job of organizing. The content stream is huge.
I will look up the top Pentax user in the group.

I admit beeing a hot supporter of future pentax FF, but also an extremely reluctant person to subscribe in FB for this funny "pool".

I would be curious to know what kind of reliability the results can be exploited with, by any marketing tycon. Let's hope Ricoh have some, and good luck !

More and more websites are attempting to force particiation in Facebook in order to take advantage of the best they have to offer. Many won't allow you to post unless you log-in via Facebook. Too bad for them. I have nothing against the new but Facebook has major issues with security and privacy. Plus, we might as well admit it: While many people attempt to use social media, it's really intended for those under 25. Anyone with a real life and job just doesn't have the time.

While I completely respect the opinions of those who shun Facebook and social media, I must tell you that people with "real lives" are indeed finding time to use sites like Facebook and Google plus at pretty much any moment of their day ... work, home, and on the go. Fact is there's 800 million on Facebook alone right now, and that can't be ignored. I'm in television broadcasting, and stations large and small are creating special departments to deal with the reality that people are going to Facebook for everything from breaking news to today's weather report. Folks are using it on mobile, on tablets, even on the couch as they're watching the evening news. It's here, folks ... and those who wish to ignore it are in about the same boat of those who didn't want to give up their beloved horse for an automobile.

As far as posting on other websites with your Facebook account, I can say that many sites prefer that because it removes the "superman anonymity" of having a fake name folks can hide behind. If you're "MrZero33456" you're much more prone to say and do things you'd never do elsewhere because no one knows who you really are. Once you're a real person and your photo appears next to your post, people tend to be much more civil. That means less work for site moderators and generally a better experience for users.

Sorry for being so off topic. Obviously, I think using channels like Facebook and Google+ to evangelize for a Pentax FF is a very good thing to do.

Probably so, indeed.
As you give the example of the car, industry has always thriven with pluralism : that's the reason why it would be a good idea to extend this intention-wishgame to other medias.
But this doesn't clarify my question re. serious conclusions that can be drawn from this kind of experiment...
