Have I understood right, the camera must be Pentax, but not the lens - or?

Yes, just the camera

As mentioned by Pedro,,,that using the analog, with no exif data,my camera works, but has no LCD,so I can't get to settings to change the date. When I use my camera I approximate all my photos, doesn't work all the time, but with SD chips you can afford the extra shots. Anyawy about my camera not giving proper date, can I still enter the contest?

As long either there is no date in the exif or the date is correct, yes.

In the properties of the photos I take it reads the year 2006, I guess,it reset after I tried to update the firmware,I don't know, but thats what it says on the last photo I took a few hours ago, on this one it gives the date and time as : 6/10/2006 7:35AM ?

I have a question. For taking pictures for World Pentax Day, you say you can use any lens as long as the camera is Pentax. I'll use my Spotmatic film camera with Pentax 55m/1.8 and some other lenses (Lentar, Sigma, Tokina). However, many people today are using the new interchangeable lens compact digitals with old manual focus lenses. So wouldn't a picture taken with a Sony NEX camera and a Pentax lens like my 55m be eligible to be posted?

That would be rejected, so I would simply strip the exif instead.

About exif data

In the properties of the photos I take it reads the year 2006, I guess,it reset after I tried to update the firmware,I don't know, but thats what it says on the last photo I took a few hours ago, on this one it gives the date and time as : 6/10/2006 7:35AM.
The reason I can't set the date is because 'no LCD'.

Did you not configure the date in the camera? In any case, you can use software such as exiftool to strip or modify exif data.

You should be fine- you'll have 2 weeks to upload your photos after you shoot them tomorrow.

Got the email invite to participate in WPD (with no mention of file size), resized a tiff to jpeg, hit the upload button and got the file limit denial of upload. So guess I don't get to participate this year. Wasn't the file limit one of the big sticklers for Pentax Photo Gallery as well? They're allowing full-rez replacement uploads until 3/1.

They should be web-sized images, although there's no resolution limit. Max filesize depends on your account type, but should generally be <1Mb.
