Brendan was going to see if he could get a good look at it but they're definitely being discreet with whatever it was. But he did emphasize it's rugged appearance.

A glimpse, just a glimpse was had of a rugged appearing, possibly mirrorless, viewfinderless camera sporting what looked like a k-mount limited or pancake lens. Could this be a prototype of something forthcoming? Please note that no announcements have been made and nothing is substantiated. This was just a spotting of what looked to possibly be something new. Maybe. More information will be posted as learned. Stay tuned!

Isn't this a Pentax Forum, and not a FujiFilm X-Pro1 fan club? Seriously, people... :ugh:

Right now the XP1 is the hottest camera at the show. Pentax made their name by making compact, high quality cameras and small high quality lenses. That is exactly what Fuji just introduced. A lot of Pentax users would love to see a Pentax version of the XP1.

Rumors are rumors, but I want to see what's in that glass case down there in the courner. Clearly, Pentax is showing SOMETHING... and after all, CES is supposed to showcase the best products of whatever year is comming around. I for one think they have SOMETHING to show. There is also that crowd around the table... They just might be keeping it low key...

It was posted by me on P3 because I am one of the editors of the publication. The other editor/owner, Brendan, is at at the show and called me on the phone right after seeing it and told me about it. I then posted my blurb on P3. It was later that I mentioned it in this thread. As you can see, there is a link to P3 in my signature line. Brendan posted his sighting to our Twitter feed first. I followed suit on P3. Full disclosure and all.

Oh and I've been an editor there longer than a mod here if that matters to anyone.

Ken Rockwell reported that the activity at the booth all centered around the Ricoh Leica-M mount module, and suggestions on how to improve it. (His was to go FF)
He said nothing was new on the Pentax front. Of course, the show is just starting.

It hasn't been posted yet. Sound slike a new camera but since it is a poster of all dslr cameras Pentax has made it sounds like a new dslr camera is coming, which is not surprising. So this might be the first official "leak". Maybe it will be announced on Feb. 4th (Pentax Day) then officially shown at CP+ a week or so latter.
