That'll be fine with me... but I still think the easiest way would be to design a K-Mount module for the GXR...

Btw: I just used FlickRhivemind to look for pictures taken with pentax. To be honest: There is no need (for me) to get another brand - I need to develop my skills! Checking PPG, Flickr etc helps to get grounded in the case of GAS

The Q is fine, don't sweat about it...

Sensors will get better and better and certainly the smaller sensors goes pretty fast in terms of technology.
So i think they did smart choosing a smaller sensor, they might not up for standard for everyone but it's good enough for most and the next gen will get better.
The Q will have a longer life then probably the bigger mirrorless camera's

Ok show me the Nikon successor to the D7000, the Canon successor to the D7.... same generation as the K5 i believe.

Show me a new entry level from Nikon for that matter D5100 is over a year now. actually the Nikon's run on the market far longer than the Pentax at entry level D5000 for example lasted almost 2 years before the5100 replaced it (and it is still at some levels of retail)

Heh But it should have an EVF like the NEX-7.
It would definitely need a OVF and/or EVF but that was just a quick shopped photo of Q.

Nice, but you forgot to put the huge shadow from the needed protruding mount. Your way, the lenses will never focus on anything.
Good thing I'm not a design engineer for Pentax

Popular Mechanics - The Top Gadgets of CES 2012

Yes, the Fuji X-Pro1 is #6 on the list - but the list includes a toaster oven, phones, remote controllers, a robot replicator and a Cadillac. This isn't a camera show. It is a consumer electronics show.

Wait for a month. We'll be fine.

Made this to show what I wish Pentax would release this year. Larger than Q, APS-C Mirrorless, interchangeable K-mount
YES! That + that with a full frame sensor (if leica can fit one in a body that size I'm sure pentax can) at around $3,000.

I had an Opito 90 for a year or so and really liked it. I was thinking Pentax should make a FF (only because it seems like lots of people here want FF I gave up a 5Dmk2 for the K5 FF isn't all that) mirrorless interchangeable lens camera thats smaller than K5 but bigger than Q, that can go under water with out a under water housing. Add the SR, in camera GPS, star tacking keep the 5stops of bracketing unlimited time-laps, Night vision focus mode, a flip screen like the on the sony FS100 (good for doing self photos) A viewfinder like the one on X100 (it really is a nice VF) make it in different colors and price under $2000 for body. Id buy that. and its 3D.

They should make them levitate so you never need a tripod. They should also make them to controlled by your thoughts. Reminds me of this song:

I still have no clue why people keep asking for this. Maybe, somebody can elaborate?

AFAIK, a GXR with K module would be the same size as a K-x camera, more expensive, and worse in every aspect I am able to imagine or that a firmware upgrade won't deliver for Pentax too. So you see why I am in trouble to understand the point ...

Well, I would need a flat body for business travelling. Have a look at this picture:
Olympus E-P1 with Panasonic 20/1.7 vs. Pentax K-x with DA40/2.8 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
and then look at this comparison from the side: Compare camera dimensions side by side

Take of the battery bulge and the mirror and it becomes pretty small. And it is the advantage of having multiple choices: A modules, M-Mount and K-Mount!!!
