Also, definitely another announcement on the way after the mirrorless.

Actually this is cool design. Maybe you could replace Marc Newson if his creation has such an impact on those who saw it. However i would rather have a brick with screwdrive and not cool looks without one.

This is a serious repsonse to the LX-D post - not purple haze, either.

How many people have asked for an LX in digital form?

I suggested it was financially impossible because an LX is a customizable system camera. But this sounds like an imaging box (LX body) with attachments to suit the use(r) - a customizable system!

Portrait format = Waist-level EVF (an LCD?) attachment (TLR reference?)
Landscape format = Eye-level EVF (Prism?) attachment; Sports Finder; Magnifying Finder; Flash-shoe Finder
Compact format = rear LCD (with LiveView?)
Tripod mount = Frame for | Grip? | Flash bracket?

Could there be a K-mount adapter that would reduce the diameter and allow for a shorter register distance? Is the K-mount throat big enough for that? (And don't start with the Deep Throat responses ).

All this stuff could be transferable to a Pro-level system, another reason I didn't believe Pentax could compete with CaNikon. K-7 built volume for the 645D technology - only THEN did we get a 645D. Methinks we may have the FF arguments backwards.

Let your imagination run wild!!

Well I supposed brick-shaped is better than foetus-shaped... but will it still be lime green?

I think this wasn't what Ricoh was thinking when they bought Pentax...
What a 2000% return on their investment?

No, I think Ricoh wants to go from 1% to 2%. Or 2% to 4%.

Storing images on 8cm CD:s could maybe be something for Pentax as it would be very different today.

Hey guys, I know this forum is a funn to write what ever you have in mind, but I have to ask why, what can you add to this forum, what is so important, that you must deal it here?
In my opinnion, please, write something which will add some new to the headline.
This site will soon be unreadable for those who really are interested on the headline.
Sorry, this is only my opinnion

Looks familiar, doesn't it? The mirrorless prototype from 1997.
We all remember the NC-1 roumor from exactly one year ago? (source)

What I think could be interesting and creative toying with this idea of a DA40 XS (short) mount is having the camera be close registration distance for the new lenses, but allowing for all the features of normal K-mount lenses via some sort of lever setting folder type extension. Could be the best of both worlds, allow for a super macro mode with the previous generation glass, and allow for the retro-styling that so many of us love.

@ Markku55 - it's a rumours thread bound to breed speculation and wild fantasy. by cp+ there will be a separate news thread with the reality. Even if there are people on the forum who have seen the camera (and even possibly are shooting with it now for future publication post announcement) they would be bound by a strict NDA and would have nothing to say, but may respond to things in fun without giving anything away
it's mindless forum amusement people love to speculate
