Thanks, but I'm pretty happy with K-5. Actually I would be probably pretty happy with K10d even. I was speculating on design...

By the end of the week, that statement will definitely be untrue!

Only if the K-01 has a perfect 1080p movie mode. The GH2 almost beats a RED...

well without having the actual stats in stone, 1/4000s seems meh, and who knows what sensor its using. In the end that may make or break it right there for me.

It may well do, but the GH2 is hardly going to sprout a Sony Exmor 16mp APSC sensor overnight, or the ability to autofocus with Pentax lenses!

Since Jogiba brought it up, I thought I'd share some photos of the GH2, which like the rumored camera is just a little bit smaller than the K-x/K-r

vs K-x

vs K20d

vs Canon G10

vs K-5

Overall, the GH2 is appreciably smaller than the Pentax dSLRs. Even more pronounced is the fact that it's much lighter - I wonder if the lack of a mirror and pentaprism/pentamirror has a big part to play in that?

If the new camera is GH2-sized, I can see people needing smaller bags to carry it around, but based on my experience with the GH2, I can see people with larger hands having some difficulty with it.

Only a couple more days now...

that's a pretty BOLD statement even the $16000 canon doesn't beat a red (it competes though)

2. Easy-to-use, super-thin lens for everyday use
This unifocal standard lens offers a focal length equivalent to 61mm in the 35mm format, and measures a mere 9.2 millimeters in length, making it the world’s thinnest interchangeable lens. Thanks to its super-thin design, it is highly portable and easy to store and carry. Its optics were designed based on those of the acclaimed smc PENTAX-DA 40mm F2.8 Limited lens. Its maximum aperture of F2.8 produces sharp, bright images in a wide range of applications, including snapshots, scenic photos, portraits, and even incident-light indoor shooting.

3. Exceptional image-description
In addition to numerical evaluations made by various testing machines, PENTAX has also conducted an image-quality evaluation of hundreds of images actually taken with this lens. As a result, it not only offers outstanding specifications, but also demonstrates exceptional image descriptive power and an image rendition unique to this lens. It features a round-shaped diaphragm, which produces a smooth, natural bokeh (out-of-focus) effect in the background.

4. SP coating to block dirt and dust
The front surface of this lens is treated with SP (Super Protect) coating, which applies an exclusive fluorine compound to the lens surface through a vapor deposition process. This SP coating not only repels dust, water and grease, but also makes it easy to wipe off oily stains such as fingerprints and cosmetics.

NO OVF or EVF. Only 3" LCD like in K-5.
The same battery as in K-5/K-7

If this camera has good video recording capabilities and HDMI output, it could be great for video (due to the supposedly rugged design and lack of an evf / ovf).

Just curious, but why not make a carbon fiber inspired grip? It is light weight, incredibly strong and incredibly durable. Expensive- yes... But also pleasing to the eyes.
