I doubt it will, but I think having an available battery/grip for it would be a good idea, since EVF's are generally hard on batteries.. But I'm guessing they will worry about overall size and not make one. The K-5's screen is pretty decent, if they threw it on an articulating/rotating arm it could be a pretty decent setup. The rumors state 3 lenses including the 40.. so if size has anything to do with the decisions I'm guessing the other two will be the DA 21 and the DA 70.. I would hope they do the DA 15 and the DA 70 instead.

I'm having a blast looking at all the "mockups" and speculations

Some people already stated that it looks like a big Optio. Considering the designer involved, the "K-" lettering on the front, and the shutter release style seems on that small leak, it's probably going to look modern with a retro twist.

The fact it doesn't feature an EVF makes me believe they maybe are going to release the EVF as a hot-shoe accessory, which in fact makes all the sense, since you could upgrade just the EVF instead of the whole body. I really doubt a company with photography DNA like PENTAX would release a K-mount camera limited to a back LCD only.

Whatever it is, if it's bad, it will sort itself out in a year or so when Ricoh/Pentax will get an idea of where they want to go and they'll fix their technology to get there.

What worries me about this camera is that it's using the K-5 sensor, so if it will also use K-5 LiveView, it's going to be pretty catastrophic. It doesn't matter whether they'll have an EVF or not if they can't refresh information on it fast enough. Can they manage to make LiveView as smooth as on other mirrorless cameras when they couldn't do that for K-7, K-x, K-5, and K-r? If they can do that, then this will be a significant achievement in itself, regardless of how this camera turns out otherwise.

Pentax should start making faster lenses, too. It is a disappointment that they have got out of that habit. But the greatest disappointment is depth.
At 5.9cm the thickness is 1.6cm more than the Fuji X-pro1's body at 4.3. The K-x body is 6.75 but 0.75 has to do with the grip and flash, remove both and you end up with this. It's not much more portable. What is the gain?
I would have liked to see a Mamiya 6 system where the lens could collapse into the body. The size of the K-x is why I once bought the Plaubel Makina. At 5.65cm including lens it did a great job and I could carry it everywhere. The K-x does not make it into my bag for work.

For the K-mount, I would rather have had a camera with a larger DOF. Not another small but not quite pocketable APS-C camera.
Final grunt: after one of the most ugly cameras ever, the Q, I hope this body does not add up to a new reputation. But at least there was design involved, so there is room for hope.

It's all speculations, of course. But, if the recessed in the body lens concept is true, the overall body depth is very comparable with all slim mirror-less players when kit lenses are attached.

...and fun! the Russian Penta-Club is discussing the consequences of getting prosecuted for some K-01 design advances and speculations how the K-01 would look in reality. The Gulag theme is still a reality
BTW: they all peacefully fell a sleep now, I guess.

Has anyone even talked about price? Is it too much to ask for around ~$500 for body only? Haha, I seriously doubt it though.

The price is the same as K-r kit price on November, 2010.
