What worries me about this camera is that it's using the K-5 sensor, so if it will also use K-5 LiveView, it's going to be pretty catastrophic. It doesn't matter whether they'll have an EVF or not if they can't refresh information on it fast enough. Can they manage to make LiveView as smooth as on other mirrorless cameras when they couldn't do that for K-7, K-x, K-5, and K-r? If they can do that, then this will be a significant achievement in itself, regardless of how this camera turns out otherwise.
It's not really the sensor, but the software running it, IMO...
I bought a Samsung NX100 (150€, a bargain!), and, while using the same sensor as the K7, its liveview is miles ahead!!! Refresh rate is nearly instantaneous, and focus is quite quick, even in low-light.
So, I don't know how pentax could have butchered their sensors' live feed so much, when I see what another company can squeeze from the same thing...

My guess is that it won't be another retro design, I think it will be aggressively modern. If the Fujis and Olympuses are BMW Mini Coopers, this will be a Citroen DS3.

I thought nx100 sensor was based on the k7 sensor.
We dunno the changes. If it is exactly the same though...

I think I read (but I may be wrong) something about readout being faster on the nx100 sensor than on the K-7 sensor.

The designer in charge of the camera seems to like anachronic designs. I don't think it will be too futuristic (e.g., NEX-like) since those designs get outdated quickly. I bet it will incorporate more Pentax DNA like a K1000, but with natural forms (e.g., rounded-squared) and modern features (more modern colors, textures and finish). I'm pretty sure it will be a pretty different camera design, though.

How many post will this reach before the release then?
I'm guessing 90 pages.
No doubt it will be more

I have 86 pages. I guess we need a few more partial camera body photos or sketchs to discuss. Then there is the lens roadmap that is supposed to come out at the same time. Then there is how the XS lens and what makes it different. There is a lot to discuss with very little facts to base our wild discussions.

The default is 15 posts/page, which puts it currently at 86...not that it is pertinent to this thread

by that image i would suppose that there won't be an adapter.
Its too deep in my opinion. i would have preferred something thinner. its not very much thinner than my K-r.

using a mirror and putting the sensor where the pentaprism would normally be would have been a nice option. doesn't look like they took that approach though. would that still qualify it as a mirrorless?
