However, I am scratching my head over just what it is. Sounds like we are getting a DSLR minus the mirror, viewfinder and phase-detect AF, while retaining the registration distance guaranteeing it to be fairly thick. So what exactly is gained over the already-compact Pentax DSLRs?
1. Even smaller camera
2. Better with MF lenses with all the MF aids avaliable on an LCD
3. WYSIWYG focus accuracy
4. No flopping mirror since there is no mirror (I don't have a clue of this problem though; no on in the rather large Singapore user base has this problem)
To me; #1,2,3 are the main reasons I'd want one.
The CDAF on K5 is not slow, though its quirky with it zoom in and such. So I'd expect the K-01 to be better. In fact I think the Q AF is pretty decent after the firmware upgrade, so perhaps thats a gauge.
