Didn't they just release an Optio that nobody paid any attention to? I think it was orange, too lazy to look, lol.

I have to say, the design (the look) of this camera is pretty cool.

Cool! Once it's official, we'll post it on the homepage and add the camera to the camera database.

Or, is there already a Norwegian/Swedish VS20 press release out there?
Yes, it seems very official. It's on the news page of Pentax Sweden.

Certainly cleaner than the US site but I like all that "stuff" on Pentax USA.

And for those who hadn't noticed, the announcement is on the US site now. And shows that aperture ranges from F/3.1 (not bad for a camera like this) to 4.8 at (that ridiculous) max 560mm. Others seem to be more like 3.3 to 5.8 or whatever. Half a stop at the long end means a bit faster shutter speed giving less effect from shake or subject motion.

At $200, I suspect it will be a decent seller. But what happened to burnt umber and fuchsia?

720p is a showstopper for me. The Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR has 1080p and a 20x optical zoom that is wider (25-500mm equivalent range). Most new smartphones have 1080p and some P&S cameras from Panasonic and Sony have 1080p60 that is not available from any HDSLR.

I like the Optios, but I always buy the WR ones. In fact, I always have a WR Optio with me when I am out and about.

I think nothing to discuss at all. IMO.
Stylish P&S camera for USD250 with 20x zoom in very compact body. It's all.

Buy Fuji...What is the problem? Do you want to say that you've been waiting for VS20 several years?

Isn't this the same sensor in all their current compacts?

More pixels doesn't automaticly mean more quality.

HUGE Disappointment !

I just bought a VS20 from Amazon and strangely, I neglected to read reviews as I usually do before purchase. I have always been a Pentax fan, and recently bought a K5, but changed to Panasonic for my Point & Shoot needs as the Option range just remained stagnant without any compelling features to keep up with competition. When I saw the VS20, I was excited about it as I saw it (in specs) as a PS that could now replace my Panasonic. That is as far from the truth as it gets, and this has turned out to be the most disappointing camera purchase I have ever made, and even worse, is not the kind of camera I would expect from Pentax !! It is a bulky camera, even more so than the Lumix ZS series. It has no manual mode, cannot zoom during movie capture, the screen is less than stellar... the reviews I have seen say it all and it barely manages a 2.5 to 3 star rating out of 5 on most sites. I really hope Pentax ups the game, but for now, it is back to the Lumix !
