Then why are the Canon 5D MKII and 7D so popular for video? I think the question would be better as "Why would most people need an EVF for video when they have an LCD screen and HDMI out?"

Back in the day the pentaprism viewfinder was a deciding factor when I bought the *ist DS over the Canon Digital Rebel...
Now, the K-7 and K-5 were the cameras that kept me using Pentax.
