The K-01 is ungley in a cute way. Still have to see how it performs. I am guessing AF will be slow. Also if it is weather-sealed. My guess is if is is going for the K-r bottom of the line price it will not be weather-sealed.

Still it is nice to see Pentax releasing this camera. I can see a second higher-end version coming out within a year with an EVF and a few other goodies.

It is a lot more exciting than the Q.

Mostly the ugly looking comes from unusefulness, lets wait for the real specks first, if this "ugly" looking body will have goood hart, may be it will be well accepted
I actually do not feel this design so ugly

Ok, lets wait for tomorrow.
I'm not so sure there is no EVF included.
And then the rest of features...

I think if you keep the aluminum knobs and dials, keep the black grips, and paint the rest metallic copper or gold the sucker will sell like crazy...
Steam Punk K-01 will kick ass!

aside from that, this is the perfect back up camera for any pentax d-slr shooter..
looks weathersealed..
is that a red dedicated video REC button I see?
if this thing can record video to the capacity of the card without overheating I'll buy two, and ditch my sony camcorders!

Personally, I think it looks great. I want to see the specs, but I think I'm going to be buying this to back up my K-5.

It looks like a GXR with a fixed K mount.

I hope this puppy uses the same batteries at the K-7 and K-5 because that would make it an even better sidekick to the K-5.

The hand-grip bulge many take objection to hints at that. Sure hope so too. (but then why couldn't they have left the back circular button grouping the same labels/functions as on the K-5? )

Well, it's a BRICK. Has anyone ever found a brick attractive? Not me for sure!
The Canon G12 & G1X are bricks.

And the Nikon 1s. But more than that, they're generic. Pentax has chosen to not be generic -- and that's going to open it to criticism.

Loving the looks!

And I love the fact that it now is a really good chance that I will try out a mirrorless for back up-camera and that it can use my beloved Pentax K-mount lenses

I am thrilled and soooo looking forward to what comes next. Oh I mean after the next release. Fullframe, yes?
