If that is true, it is UGLY. Maybe it does something fantastic?

Otherwise, no thanks.

I find it looks strange myself.
I think Fuji and Olympus did a better job at delivering the goods in the looks dept. this year.
I hope this isn't a prelude of what's to come from Ricoh because I've always found Pentax to have a certain allure to their products based on form and function

Then again... this could be their experiment product too.
Here's to hoping for the upcoming K-3

Oh come now guys, it's not that bad... I personally think it's quite attractive.

It's surely a lot more tough than all those other mirrorless options out there. Maybe it's even WR?!

It's that bulge to accommodate the dial that annoys me... Without it, it'd be quite nice actually- all it would be missing would be a stainless steel top plate!

I don't think it is a bad design, but I was certainly more excited when K-7 came out.

no, its pretty ugly. we are all welcome to our opinions, and mine is that its ugly. just not my cup of tea design wise. how it performs, I will reserve judgement on. however, the design of the body does have a big impact on how the individual user can connect with and use the equipment. knowing my personal design aesthetic, I doubt I could ever warm up to such a camera, even if it performed fantastically. its just plain ugly to my eyes.

Yoda says "quite the ugly ducking it is."

The whole package looks much better IMO when a full-sized | longer | zoom | telephoto lens is mounted.

That 'bulge' folks don't like is probably required for battery's requirements as well as better ergonomics in the hand. For that, I'll forgive it.
