I guess I need to stop looking at buying a 50mm right now and wait for the new 50 1.8. Looks very similar to the 35mm 2.4. Hopefully it will be priced the same/better. Any word on availability?

I'm fairly sure the focus ring is the larger one on the left side of the image and the grip on the right side is just there to hold on to for mounting and unmounting the lens.

With a new mount, they would have to make not only few wides, but also normal and longer lenses which would otherwise not benefit from the shorter registration distance. Cut the K-mount roadmap to a quarter, and tell me if you like it

About the small ring - someone (I don't remember who, sorry) speculated that it could be for polarizers.

DA560 and DA50 will be launched this year

The alternative to a recessed lens is not a new mount, but a normal k-mount lens. All of a sudden we have room for even more k-mount lenses on the roadmap, and all lenses can be used on all bodies. But no, throw the k-mount compatibility out the window and save 10mm.

We're trying to make sense of the design. Does the one on the CP+ and in the product photo have a hood that's already extended? Or is it in the retracted position? We're missing a photo of the front element of the lens; that will make it a lot more clear.

Man they're on a roll these days! K-01 looks better every time I see pictures, that pink q looks beutiful, and now new lenses!

The photo above seems to indicate the correct placement of the mount for balance as the front elements are heavier. Something seems a miss though. The A600 is just slightly longer than the A300 so I'm not sure why the 560 seems to be so much larger than the size of a DA*300....... Adam...whoever is going to CP+, can they take a photo of a camera beside the 560 to get a sense of perspective?
