The 60mm macro isn't.

I haven't seen the 50mm macro myself but wonder if it really needed updating? Is that really the most pressing need?

Hopefully this means 'most pressing needs 1 through 10' are already being addressed as well.

well they did say the roadmap was subject to changes

many people of course assumed that meant what was on it would never appear

Apparently they were wrong and it can go the other way as well

A 60/2.8 macro is interesting. That's the same parameters as the new Fuji lens, but for APS-C of course. I wonder if they actually differentiate 35mm and APS-C in those patents, or are all K-mount patents "35mm"...

The significant thing is Sigma is marketing new lenses in K-mount. Some other manufacturers haven't done so for a while.
I agree, this is good news. It seemed like for awhile there, that even Sigma was cutting back on Pentax mount lenses. But since Ricoh came out with a new Pentax lensmap and the K01, there seems to be this "sudden" stocking of new Sigma lenses w/Pentax mount at BH. There may not be too much cost involved in porting already designed lenses over to the K mount, but there is significant expense involved in manufacturing and stocking those same Sigma designs at stores such as BH, Amazon, and Adorama, etc. Sigma is obviously convinced that Pentax is here to stay.

I wonder how much, if any, co-expensing is customary in the camera business and, if any, whether perhaps Hoya ceased and Ricoh resumed the practice?

the restocking is a good thing! did you notice this yourself?

i wonder if it was that B&H let their stocks run dry with the uncertainty of the transfer from hoya to ricoh, or that sigma slowed producing them....
either way it is good news.

I don't know if there is co-expensing, interesting idea. I did check Amazon and was amazed by the number of Sigma lenses for Pentax that they have. They had the new 120-300 f2.8 you mentioned as well as the 500mm f2.8 prime. Lots of fish eyes and rect. UWA. And tele zooms. And a 17-35 f2.8 zoom that had good ratings.
