Significantly less feasable.

I have reason to believe this rumour is in fact, true.
My brother resides in germany - and I would be willing to act on forum member's behalf in pre-ordering the first batch of million Pentax FF to be released in Germany only.
Just send me the money.

A K5 body with a 645 sensor wouldn't be such a bad move at all. There's more new 645 glass then FF glass around, and they've announced more to come. I just don't think it would be possible.

If it was priced less then the 645D, then I would buy such a camera instantly. I've been saving up for a 645D ever since I got to play with one for a couple of days. Almost there...

I believe you need to be able to trace your roots to Germany. No problem with me, just can't speak the language. Night School?
I suspect Falk already has his. Perhaps already tested and returned it.

But of course. Can't we have a laugh at times? This is probably the gazillionth thread about a Pentax digital FF "coming up". If it will come, it'll come.

Absolutely we can have a laugh. What else can you do with a persistent, recycled FF rumor thread that comes on the heels of a Pentax representative saying there are no such plans?

Those of you who desparately want FF should just bite the bullet and buy a 645d. Sell your organs, souls, spouses and children, and all the gears you have, take out a loan or second mortgage, and just go for it. Just think about how much better your pictures are going to be. Instead of endlessly talking about it here, you can actually go out and take pictures. Somewhere in other threads Creampuss said that talk is cheap (maybe he meant as opposed to being expensive). Who cares if you regret doing it? You can always sell it on eBay. Who knows perhaps your spouse will take you back. Your children will forgive you. It wouldn't be the end of the world. At least you will have a sensor that is so much bigger than FF. You only live once.

I don't know about you, but I was laughing on the inside when I saw the two next to each other and imagined some 645 lenses on the Q. Guess I was being too subtle...

I guess I took the photo of the sensor size comparison and the camera size comparison as something that would turn into "another scientific talk" too quickly too.

Except this time the rep didn't say so. Quite not.
Hell...

Full-frame or not, I predict that Pentax will announce cameras this year. I am willing to bet my left kidney on that one.
I don't bet, but if I did I think I'd be highly inclined to join you on this one.

Wasn't the 645D body adjusted from the K-7 body design? If it weren't for the mirror + prism + lens to sensor distance (required afaik), it just might be possible.

The 645D borrowed it's autofocus system from the K-7 (a fact which means the AF points only occupy about 6% of the frame unfortunately), but if you look, the body is almost identical to that of the 645N II with slightly more modern curves. I don't think there's any way to squeeze a mirror that size into a K-7.

Having a 33x44mm sensor inside the body of a K-5 is a hopeless dream, especially if you have to put SR into it. But I think that wouldn't be necessary. I think SR is loosing importance with high ISO better year after year, and anybody would take a 33x44 sensor in a bigger body, the size of a D700, for example. A mirrorless 33x44mm sensor sized camera, with shortened mount, with a tube adapter for 645 glass and a flat adapter for K lenses would be a better camera for Pentax than a me too 24x36 camera with basically just 6 fixed focal, no zoom, lenses available for new.
