I wish they would publish a full list of problems addressed. It's hard to know what's real and what's subjective (and confirmation bias) when they do it this way (only list improvements and the really big things). *sigh*
Agree it would be nice to have a full detailed list, but Pentax is hardly unique in this. It's actually very common to not put everything in the release notes and there are various valid and some not so valid reasons for doing so. I work in software so I am very familiar with this...

Waited for 15 minutes to progress past step 1 of 2 before giving up and powering down, this little piggy (K7) is going on a road-trip to Colorado.
I have done FW updates on 2 K100`s , 2 K7`s and 1 K5 before. Some times it is just not your day.

Bonjour Ex Finn,

I have done mine rather religiously which each FW update ... K110D, K-r, former K-7, K-5 ... never had a wait like that ...bizzare.

Salut, J Frog

Very strange indeed, something must have been corrupted, I just updated a K5 and it only took few minutes.

Does FW v1.13 on K5 modify AF?

I upgraded firmware on my K-5 from v1.11 to v1.13 and to my horror some days later I noticed all pictures taken with FA77 were out of focus even at f8. Upon further playing with the combo I found out I had to tune in the AF microadjustment to +10 -- straight from 0 with v1.11. E.g. FA31, DA21 or DA15 have been unaffected and focus correctly. How can a FW upgrade change just a single lens' AF? Does Pentax expect us to calibrate all lenses after upgrade? This would be crazy :/

Had the same with my FA31, the problem was in some loosen screws inside the lens. QC was really poor for 1k$ lens. So maybe its not firmware in Your case too

More likely than not the firmware has nothing to do with it (though perhaps your AF adjustments were reset?).

I'm hoping that the live view AF will have the option to focus without the zooming in, it's very disorienting.

And my K7, after a FW update gone bad, will return from C.R.I.S. today.
