Can somebody tell me what's the point of using the 40mm XS pancake on a DSLR? I mean even the old DA 40mm is miniscule.
Get a 40XS to replace the stock body cap

So a cool US$550 more because it's silver and comes with a non-essential, don't want, don't need XS 40 ? Meh ! Moving on.

Love my (black) K5s and can't wait to see what's in store for us with the new iteration.

The DA40XS is not only smaller in size then the DA40, but also it's price is a lot smaller too. Whilst it does have the same optical formula, with some modern enhancements.

I've missed some news, I think; this is the first time I've seen confirmed that the DA40XS will work on a DSLR. I'm going to order it.

The original Singapore Users Group thread had several people shooting with it on a K-5 and some sample pics. We also know that it can be manually focused and that the lens cap is push on not threaded.

It seems odd for Pentax to make a second run of Silver K-5s. I wonder if they are not just trying to buy some time. Maybe the K-5 replacement is not going to be ready this year and Pentax is trying to keep something fresh on the market.

September is the next window from all accounts for a release. The Oxen are slow, but the Earth is patient.

as nice as this seems, they have just diminished the value of the "Limited" edition by releasing it twice!!!

They sold 1500 Silver units last year, at a premium price because there were only going to be 1500.

This just tells us there is nothing coming to replace the K-5 for a while.

Looks like this new LIMITED silver edition has a different grip. The original silver K5 has a slightly bulkier grip:

Well spotted! The new Limited K-5 Silver looks like the standard K-5 (black) grip... The chunkier grip on last years K-5 Limited is better

I suppose this K5 will have Ricoh branding on the bottom.
