Should have just licensed the Tamron 60mm f/2 like they did the 18-250mm IMO. Internal focusing, non-recessed front element to maximise working distance, very good sharpness, also useful as a portrait/low light lens. Add WR and it would be a real winner.

Tamron 60/2 is not bad lens. But...
The patent is Pentax patent for 60/2.8 lens.
Not 60/2.

18-250 is another history.

It is, although the 60/2 was in existence when the patent was filed and I have a sneaking suspicion it may turn out to be the more useful lens.

The 18-250 is another history but I can definitely see fostering a good relationship with third party manufacturers as beneficial.

No any sense. Ricoh and Pentax has good optical engineers and lens factories.

to put it simply- ricoh can't take over canon unless they offer everything that they do- better at a better price point.

so they have to be thinking about FF

A 2x magnification to 3 x magnification will suffice. A twin macro flash light instead of ring flash, would be ideal.
