Well I certainly like it. And I'm not deluding myself. It grows on you. It isn't anywhere near perfect but it has a place.

If I get a shot at a K-5 in the last push before the end I'll get one (that's how I got my K10D). If not I'll just get the next one. Either way I'll have both styles (though the OVF will still be a challenge to use).

I agree. While I still don't think the K-01 is the best looking camera ever, I don't hate it and I'd consider buying one.

Also, I'd like to see Pentax use K-$ for the K-r replacement. Given they've used * in the past, they obviously aren't opposed to using non-alphanumeric characters in product names.

So, why not K-⿔ then?

That's even better. I'm already looking forward to seeing attempts to discuss the new K-⿔.

Google and Babelfish don't know what ⿔ means, and neither do I.

That was the purpose of the exercise Add to it that nobody knows how to spell it and you got a winner

If it's katakana, that would be 'ro'

(he he... Falk, I just did it )

Turtle. Or more precisely, it's the kangxi radical for turtle. But I imagine people would call it K-glyph, or maybe K-kanji because they just assume it's a japanese character (which, as far as I know, it isn't).

Or maybe I got the wrong character, unusual characters sometimes come out as something else, because software doesn't work right.

Besides being the katakana 'ro', ⿔ is the kanji for 'kuchi' - 'mouth' (of course, also used in many compounds). It's easy to search it in a kanji dictionary, all you need to know is it takes 3 strokes to draw

So it's K-ro. Oddly enough, that's just how the residents of Cairo, Illinois pronounce the name of their hometown. And the syrup, of course.

Sounds a bit cringeworthy, but in my city the street named after Albert Camus is pronounced CAM us. As I found to my chagrin, shortly after I moved here, when I dispatched a police unit to an address on Camus Lane. A few laughed at my ignorance. But I figured that their ignorance trumped mine and I filed the data away.
