It would be utterly strange if its name is k30.

Stranger than K-01? In the old film days the naming once used to be MZ-30, MZ-5N, MZ-3, (MZ-S), 645NII. Just replace MZ with K and N with D .

It is also not the first time that K-30 has been rumored to be a possible name (including e.g. here - note that at least some of the interpretation there seems to be wrong). It is certainly much more likely than K-z. Let`s wait until June .

If it does turn out to be K30, then I'd say it would be a suitable replacement for my K20D by name alone

Come on, the name K30 would be completely confusing for a K-r successor, given that K10d and K20d are pretty well known and respected cameras.

yes, because we all know that Pentax does never use confusing name strategies
this is what I've heard, can't really vouch for anything

Does it have to be the K-r's successor?

Would a hyphen and a non-existing D not be enough?

Other DSLRs (upgrade and successor) should only emerge later .

well that K-01 and just a few lenses for a great set of holiday and family remembrance pictures.

Seeing how people mix up Kr, K-r, K-R, K7D, K20, K-20 etc.: no.

edit: The forum software automatically creates a link out of Kr but not out of K-r (the correct name) to this camera's review page. Go figure.

edit2: Now it does!?

It's K-r, accept no facsimile.

I hope Adam is reading. The red letters miss the mark.
