If this is true then it's the D3200's 24MP sensor + low price

vs. the 16mp K-5 sensor + WR in the K-r replacement. I wonder what will be Canon's answer? 39 AF points for 1200D?

Since the K 30 rumour has floated for some time now, and there is supposed to be an announcement this month on a KR replacement (also rumoured for months now) and there is a photo show in Australia this month.... logic is the announcement will be around the Aussie show (next week i think)

I don't see a K30 on that page, and their search engine didn't come up with one.

Problem though, will Pentax offer it in a myriad of colors again? Imagine a hot pink weathersealed camera sitting on the bank of a river...
I think they will reserve that for the beginner camera that probably also comes.

Indeed. This catalogue has just been printed and is not supposed to have been sent out yet. May be some copies have been distributed inadvertently, may be the leak comes from the printing house itself.

same price as the K5 at the moment
Same as the K-5 without lens, isn't it?

I'm not sure at all if I like the new prism design, but otherwise this looks very good.

Okay, check this out --
  • Same sensor as K-5
  • Two dials
  • The same AF-S/AF-C/M focus switch
  • Focus assist light beam
  • Weather sealing

This is going to cannibalize K-5 sales like crazy, because it basically is a K-5, excepting details like the top LCD and expansion to ISO 51200, both of which don't really matter to most people. What that means is probably not that Pentax/Ricoh is stupid, but that the K-5 replacement is also imminent.

Another "detail": nowhere it is said that the viewfinder is a pentaprism.

But Ricoh are in favour of value for money, that's for sure.
