I keep forgetting about that other DSLR Anyone notice how poor the resale is on it? They seem to drop more in value in a year than the cost of a brand new D800.

From my uninvolved-but-interested viewpoint, it went from $8.X k to $6.X k within a few months of the D800/5DIII. Coincidence?

Frankly, I am a bit embarrassed right now for Pentax as they only have one current DSLR available not counting their 645D.

I will say that I do appreciate Pentax making a noticeable impact with each of their cameras. They really know how to release few bodies and yet get plenty of publicity for it. I also have to say that every Pentax body I see in the wild is usually using a different lens.

Pretty much every Nikon or Canon has the 55-200 or 55-250 respectively. Not so with Pentax. People rock the pancakes, the DA*s or even legacy lenses.

I agree, Pentax does it right, or they don't do it at all. And their users have access to the higher quality glass. So... What's there to be embaressed about?

I'm hoping that the "K-r replacement" will be the K-5n, i.e. basically a K-5 updated with K-01 video capabilities, a tilting or swiveling screen and no other changes except maybe the addition of a SCENE setting to the mode wheel just to make newbies feel welcome (D7000 and 60D have that)... now that would be something! The question is if they can keep the price low enough, but a lineup with K-"BEGINNER", K-5n and K-"FF" would really be strong :-)

It seems to be an upgraded K-r rather than a K300d. No lcd screen, but weathersealed. It looks very nice.

Whoa, on print? Not sure if it's even real but... if the K-r replacement's to have that design. I say, it really rocks. Rugged looks are always welcome! Problem though, will Pentax offer it in a myriad of colors again? Imagine a hot pink weathersealed camera sitting on the bank of a river...

wait, front wheel? whoa. so 2 control wheels then? cool.

Two wheels, WR, AA batteries, small size, K-5 sensor, lower price. If this is accurate, I'm in.
