How is it that PentaxForums (yes, this site) is last to post any information about new pentax products?

Maybe because PentaxImaging didn't know? I mean they didn't seem to be aware that Pentax-Ricoh had come out with a K mount mirrorless for weeks after the rest of the regional distributors announced it.

It looks to me like it is still very closely related to the K-r. Maybe with all those colors it is actually a K-r-z. The proper way to pronounce it will be Kray-Zee.

Seriously, is there any two-letter combination in this world that wouldn't have a negative connotation in some language or culture? I don't think we can stop using product names completely.

If it is genuine, the blurring was obviously done by Pentax to raise the interest. Like on this forum we already have two multi-page threads discussing the possible name. Cheap advertisement.

If the whole story of K-z is real, then it shows total lack of communication between HQ in Japan and Pentax Europe. Germany is ca 80 million inh.country (plus Austria and Switzerland). And that is already reason to think a little bit.

I guess, that Japanese would be at least surprised, if the new camera name would be Little Boy or Fat Man (names of Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs). Although Fat Man would fit K01 quite well.

Anyway, such association doesn't show professionalism. Another reason to change marketing people.

K-z could remind you of concentration camps, if you want that. K-z could have very different meanings, or no meaning at all.
Little Boy or Fat Man, on the other hand, are very explicitly referring to atomic bombs. That would be an intentional insult.

in italian kz if pronounced straight and not one letter at a time, would sound as a very thight and fast way to say cazzo, which is "dick"... that would be funny!
