Pentax K-z

It looks like the K-r's successor will indeed be the K-z. Sounds sort of weird to me, though! Photorumors has just posted another image:

I've heard that more details about this will be revealed tomorrow...

I can imagine they may have a different name for it in Germany and isreal (like the old mz/zx series where they had several names for the same camera)

Also -- Kay-Oh-Wun. Forget that Zero garbage. I didn't buy a Zero (Tora! Tora! Tora!) or a "ZERO not HERO" or a "nul return error" camera.

Pentax just needs to get Hasselhoff to promote this camera.

We've had K-m, K-x, now why not K-2? (I don't think it is K-z). Pentax already own all the brand rights and copyrights to the designation.

Now let's hope they don't name the K-5 replacement Spotmatic. (I know- that was bad).

We all know that the K-5 replacement is going to be the K-9, silly...

Europe makes up a significant part of the Pentax market, hopefully the camera will be marketed differently in Europe if the decision is KZ. I believe the Km was marketed differently in Europe from North America. Could be wrong on this though. A bit disappointing that this new camera is being promoted for its colour variations rather than for its features at this point. Hopefully the features will place the camera in a competitive position in the market. I would like to see weather sealing as a standard on this level of camera. Add to that the features of the K01, plus live video hdmi output the camera could be a real hit.

that huge colour variation for marketing will be for the japanese market only. custom orders are not viable for worldwide distribution
