Leaked flash announcement: In a surprise move, Pentax-Ricoh Imaging Corp has announced teaming up with Hustler Enterprises to produce the new "touchy-feely" Ky camera, with teledildonic attachments. Company spokespeople claimed, "This isn't as f*cked as it sounds." More details should be released soon. Don't bend over.

Sure? No, I am only reading:

- new name : PENTAX-DA instead of PENTAX-DFA

- press release :"designed and optimized for exclusive use with its popular 645D medium format digital SLR camera" (...) "focal length of approximately 19.5mm in the 35mm format" (...) "completely optimized for use with the PENTAX 645D digital SLR camera" (...) "95-degree angle of view" (...) "totally optimized for the 645D camera"

The specs page only lists the equivalent AoV for the 645D, while the page for the 55mm lists the 645D and film bodies.

In addition, the mount is listed differently (don't know if this makes a difference): PENTAX 645AF2 Bayonet vs 645 KAF2 bayonet

Every time I fear we're taking ourselves too seriously, someone dispels that fear. A tip of the hat to RioRico. I can imagine Graham Chapman reading that .....

Information about the new intro-level DSLR should be distributed today AFAIK.
We just had an intro-level camera in the K01 introduced - why another intro camera?

In other news, Pentax staff kicked the F out of their new medium format lens this morning. Video follows this commercial break.

If so, I respectfully submit that it is richly deserved.

Hmmm. Interesting.

Not only is the name changed, but the lens hood has a longer sloped section, which pushes the petals further towards the front narrowing the field of view.

So maybe they have found that it dows not work as well on the film 645 cameras as they previously thought. hence the revision to 645D only.

Regards
