If somebody bought from CC better add accidental warranty for Pentax just now
CC very good about coverage all camera problem,if cant fixed they refund original ammount what you paid. Some lenses has still in stock with good sale price
for example 50-200 right now 186$

they were $100 more then other placed on the 12-24mm f/4 when I was looking to buy it... no wonder it was in stock there and almost nowhere else.

They probably can't get any bodies and so aren't stocking the rest of the kit until bodies become available again.

It looks like Pentax may be making the same mistake they did between the end of the *ist's and the K-series release, with no bodies available to cover the gap. Unless they intend to ship the K2 series bodies at the end of January (one can hope).

As you suggested, and has been suggested in other threads elsewhere, if Pentax could announce on 1/24 that "here are our new cameras" and "oh, by the way, now stocked at a retailer near you"

that would be huge, not even because canon and nikon don't do it, but because in the buy-it-now world we live in...its just huge. This way of doing things is one reason Apple enjoys success. They orchestrate a massive press event to unveil all new iPods, and you can get them, for the most part, the next day in stores.

Would be impressed if they pulled that off

Yeah, it's like the release of Gran Turismo 5...gets bumped and bumped till no one even has a year guess when it comes out.

I have a feeling though...even though the Pentax announcement is going to big, the Canon one is bigger :/

I just got off the phone with my local camera shop. I asked if they happened to know if there was a new camera line comming out. The girl replied she did not know however she was just informed today by her supplier/rep that there were no more K100D's and K10D's

Same-day or next-day availability would be extremely helpful to their marketshare.

The only Pentax DSLR equipment I've ever seen at my local CC is a 50-200. Nothing else. Not sure about P&S's though.
