Jump! Jump! Now!
(start from 2:00)
Don't wait 'till Photokina! There's a window of opportunity that is quickly closing... there are new products planned, actions are taken; soon, arguments seemingly valid now will start losing their sense - and you'll find yourself trapped, forever, with no way out.

My apologies.
Please, start from the beginning - series 1, episode 1. It's worth it, and you'll eventually get there

Actually I've already seen the whole series and loved it, I was just excited to see a Babylon 5 reference here of all places!

I can save $1400 from Canon on one lens. I can buy a 7D for that. Pentax now has prices that make it *cheaper* for me to switch systems - buy a camera and a lens - rather than to expand my Pentax lens collection.

Really. Right now I could sell my lens portfolio, buy a Nikon 'pro' system with D800, and have money left over in the bank. I'd have a physically larger and heavier system, sure. I'd give up some prime-IQ but that would be overwhelmed by FF-IQ.
Sure. If that's what you want to do

Haha i like how you put "I'm sure our pictures will improve as well" like it wasn't the most important thing in the first place.

Personally I think that is a stupid idea. At least wait until photokina- if that is a disappointment then fair enough, but I think that there is a lot of promise for it.
Ok, fine. Let us wait until photokina for yet more lame products and pricing. Then, let us have a mass exodus to other brands. Only then our pictures of falling leaves changing colors will be gorgeous.

I'd prefer to stay with Pentax. I hate Canon ergonomics. I dislike Pentax mistakes in the market.

Open complaint to those who care to read from a fanboy

I am going to leave pentax. Hard for me to say as I think the K5 is the best APSc. However,

1) They did a poor job marketing the k-01 (Should have been released with a set of XS lenses including a small 18=55)
I wont even get into the design but they should have used the Q design for the K-01

2) The price increase at a time when Ricoh should be attracting users to K mount

3) The Q should have been designed with a larger sensor.

4) the 645 D better have a follow up with a better (more Mpixel) sensor otherwise they will not have a system compared to the Nikon D800.

Oh and i refuse to defend or promote Pentax in any fora until these issues (mostly price and better lenses for the k-01) are rectified.

All of these make wonder about how long the system will be around. I dont want to be in a dead end.

If they don't rectify most of the above (the price increase in particular) I will leave. I have all the Lenses I need but I dont want to be part of a dead end. I will give it 2 months to see what happens then you will see a Bunch of K mount and 645 lenses hit the marketplace.

Because they want to be right. At Photokina they'll likely be proven wrong.

Frankly, you're taking it too seriously.

I think this is the opportunity we all have been waiting for. All signs are there; lame mirrorless, no FF, price hikes. It is time we all take a stand and jump ship. I am sure our pictures will improve as well. Let's do it. Let's switch brands.
