my opinion

the bs just keeps comin. I rather spend my time taking photos instead of worrying about threads where no one knows or cant say anything. Ye i know i dont have to read them and i dont went straight to the last page had my say im happy. back to reality for me.I just think it suks when you turn forums into guessing competitions full of BS.

It's the "Rumors" section of the forum. It's not called "Facts". If not here, then where?

I think the 16:9 would be awesome. Pentax has been rumored to push a 1.3x crop sensor for a while now. This is 1.3x crop, we just keep the 1.5x crop in the other dimension. I'm finding myself thinking of the type of shots I would take with such a sensor and it's pretty intriguing. Even if it is just a rumor, it's a rumor that has got me thinking and I appreciate that.

Video feature would be interesting, though I don't foresee myself using it much. I use the video function on my camera a bit, and it would be nice to have something that can be manual focused and zoomed (quietly to boot) and can have a shallower depth of field that current consumer cameras just cannot do.

What state is it in? Is the test in disrepair, or not failable?

I'd like that too, but think of the nasty effects on lenses.
Imagine a 50mm lens now being 65mm equiv *and* 75mm equiv on the same camera -- try explain that to a newbie

You have to explain nothing. If the newbie asks you just say that a 50mm is a 50mm. Not more not less.

Larry, what exactly did you get his piece of info?

I did a search, guess what, your dpreview's "wide screen rumor" gets quoted EVERYWHERE in all different languages forums! Amazing, that's how rumors spread

Well, I'm proud to be one of the few to have started a dpreview thread that reached the 150 max!

He got that from a post on some asian forum. I posted the link here before:

Pentax K20D Feature - Page 2 - PhotoMalaysia Forums

The real question is: why did he say it was a "Dubai leak" (the post he copied is from the 7) and did he believe what was written?

The same guy also predicted the LV in view finder (showed with a nice drawing of a ... *istD! ) and that ISO 6400 noise would be of ISO 800 level on K10 (see previous page on the lnk).

The best post from this guy is the one where he states that "button #12 is the LV button" from which can be inferred that the AF button on the *istD is now an LV button... truly remarkable that anyone would believe that BS... but it surely made for some entertaining moments...

I am including the K20D drawing: enjoy!!

The usual. Press release leak.
BS... what are you trying to do?

There is a difference between having fun with rumors and outright lying!

Maybe the new K20D will be based on an *istD body.

I just hope it takes as good photos as I have seen produced by *ist D, *istDS, *istDL, K110D, K100D, K100D Super & K10D - of course with a little help from those enlightened Pentaxians behind the viewfinder.

Anyway to all those frantically waiting to see what bells & whistles are soon to be available - make sure you still check into the "Post your Photos" threads - give yourself a little reminder of what it is all about.

Go on check out a few photos, make a comment and brighten up someone's day
