No. Apart from being a fairly obvious shop, the lens release button would never move

The wheel near the shutter release makes no sense as it make firing the shutter very awkard.. also the SR plate doesnt seem like it would ever go there.

The lens could just be an edited DA 16-45... it looks similar at first glance.. at least the inner lens part.

The wheel near the release is used to wind/stretch the sensor for the new 16:9 format

Look very closely at the top of that wheel. The mode dial has raised printing. If you look at the bumps from left to right on the left wheel, they correspond to the pattern of bumps on the right. This dial could have easily been lifted, tilted and dropped into place.

Can someone confirm a source of this image?

Hi Asahiflex

Re your observation:

The simple explanation is that the lens-mount has apparently been 'reverse-engineered' ! I rather like the moulded grip which nicely accommodates one's fingers. The knob directly behind the shutter release is apparently of the 'pop-up' variety and was thoughtfully designed as a convenient feature !

Check out that IR reciever! It's curved, but the spot behind it is flat!

YEP! I can confirm this image is a fake.

look at the image from the Dpreview review.

http://a.img-dpreview.com/reviews/PentaxK10D/Images/allroundview.jpg

Its the same image but with the inside lens part of a DA 16-45 photoshopped in from this image:

http://www.dpreview.com/news/0609/pentaxk10d.jpg

The aperture ring tab on the FA50 was moved too. or maybe the photoshopper just flipped the whole lens mount area.

Even the "K20" seems to be cut and pasted over the image - check out the pixelation of the black around the K20 and then beyond its area, the black of the camera body is less pixelated. An obvious fake with all the visual evidence before us...

Please note that the lens has rotated 90degrees to the left. So the lens release is on the adequate position. Also the A-aperture ring release button has also rotated, it is now on the other side of the mount, and the autofocus drive screw is on top of the bayonet flange. Unless that body is intended to be used on the upright position, if you insist it is a real photo then we could say that EARTH is not round but square shaped.

I have to agree totally. Are we really that hard up to get a glimpse of what might be, or is it you can't wait and get the real view of what is being released. These threads are getting very ridiculous.

wouldnt mind if a second mode dial turned out to be true though. I admire the design philosophy behind the minolta 7D, give ppl buttons for everything.

Definitely! I loved the concept of the 7D. Bristling with buttons, it reminded me of the Bismarck. You had a one-touch control for almost everything. You can't do that with software.
