Dubai and the NDA

Everybody here should calm down..It is known that all of the journalists that attended the Dubai News Conference had to sign an NDA. This required that there be an embargo that must be honored. The date given for the lifting of that embargo was January 24, 2008. Now if any of them wish to risk a major law suit they will respect that NDA and wait until the official press release.

Ben

At least we know that there something big coming for sure, with no delays and with a powerful marketing actions behind [a real groundbreaking feature for Pentax!].

I wonder if in Beretta's user forums there are rumours discussion like these...at least the "wanna an higher FPS rate" rants should be the same

Ben,
I know that you're under a NDA, but can you tell me if my hopes that the K20D to be able to handle high ISO noise as well as the latest crops of DSLR's (40D, A700 and D300) are reasonable? Similarly, its AF and FPS numbers?

Ben,
Atleast tell mw how soon it is going to be available on Shelves, reason being I already sold my K10D 2days back in anticipation of the new one. And I can't live long without a Pentax.

That info you'll not get until Jan,24th. But one thing I can assure you is that they don't use batteries any more. They'll use TNT Power. At least that is what some guys are reporting from Dubai, they say it's a Bomb

Latest rumors

Latest rumors from Germany:

- Sensor ist not ready. For PMA K20 will get a 10-12 MP sensor.
Only later (first quarter of 2009) the new sensor will be used.

- no life view, at least not for PMA

Well, just rumors of course.

Should I really get one, when the shots will blow away everyone I care about (including myself)? Will everybody become a war photographer now?

Will the TNT be a proprietary form factor or readily on-the-shelf avaible (Warner bros. cartoon style) one?

It seems to me that the biggest breakthrough of Pentax/Hoya is an Unbreakable NDA (UNDA) The new cameras are just there to test it...

Now THAT would be funny (although in an horrible kind of way): on the 24th we get the announce that the new K20D boasts... the same exact 10MP sensor than the K10D (or even the 12MP Sony sensor, just like everybody else...)!!

3fps, 12bits, same AF etc, etc... but wait there is more: in 2009, Pentax will ROCK THE BOAT with an all NEW sensor... errrrrh... what?... You heard this one before?... OK then, sorry folks... see you at PMA 2009... or not!

That would be a REAL bomb! ... Sadly, the only casualty would be Pentax itself!

(Note: I don't buy that for a minute.)

Im still waiting for K1D rumors, hopefully with the new updates they will finally think about expanding the lineup instead of just updating it.
