I'm very curious about what the "Between K-r and K-5" model would be, I hope it will be WRed. Maybe it's really a K-5 with a tilting screen - and some tweaks to make it easier to approach by noobs - like SCN on the mode dial (is there room for that?)?

Russian poster from the show wrote that it's going to be "bomb of local damage". Something like K200D was some time ago, i.e. it will have features unique to it's segment.

That's a weird way to phrase it, is that a colloquialism for "unique"? A tilting LCD seems like something fitting for the category.

Not to analyze this comment too deeply... but here I go analyzing it too deeply:

Pentax would like you to buy new FF lenses when they are available - however, they also realize that the incentive to jump ship is decreased if you do have some old FF lenses keeping you in Pentax if there's a possibility of a FF body around the corner.

If you go ahead and sell all your K-mount FF lenses now, you'll have less (or no) incentive to buy that FF K-mount body when it appears.

So, the message really is: Don't sell those old FF lenses! (until we have replacements ready to sell to you, of course!)

IMO it's either:
a. Pentax will launch the long-awaited FF
b. Pentax will launch an APS-C higher end camera, which the Pentax rep mistakenly thought it's FF
c. Pentax rep was drunk and talked nonsese (highly unlikely, IMO)
d. The Russian poster made it up (for some reasons, I believe this is also highly unlikely

)

In one year we'll know, or so it seems.

Maybe the low-end (K-r replacement) will have the tilting screen, and the in-betweener will be like the K200D- sealed, without top LCD (or with, depends on Pentax), 11 AF points, but, it has to have something missing the K-5 replacement will have: no manual video controls and AF on video perhaps?

This in-betweener model is the one I'm curious about. The FF, if it is the one, has long been every Pentaxian's dream (even if they're not gonna buy one lol), and the replacements are of course mandatory. I wonder how Pentax is going to position that in-betweener.

Entry will be essentially a K-01 with an OVF. nothing else special

the mid will likely be tilt screeen and WR, but based on the KR with upgraded sensor (maybe the 16mp still)

the K5 replacement will be 24mp, and get upgraded AF/Video/Flash I bet

the FF will be a digital LX

that's what my oracle says anyway after i sacrificed a baby canon user

Or, as has been suggested, it was a crass ploy to string Pentax users along by having them more deeply invested in FF lenses. So, it is probably 1 through e and not a through d for your choices.

I know that most of volunteers at Pentax stand from Russian penta-club are well-educated, responsible and cultured persons which prefer green tea or wine (very rare).
The representative office of Pentax Russia is located in Sankt-Petersburg - the cultural capital of Russia.
To be drunk at official Pentax show - such thought is offensive...
